Mar. 10-13: Official Power

We have officially (ha!) started the Official Power unit. The only homework you have is to read p. 96-99 and answer the 6 questions I gave to you before the break (blue booklet). These questions have to do with our government and democracy in Quebec/Canada today.

The week after March break:
- review vocab. and start power in New France
- notes about "official power" (the mother country, their reps in the colony) and the interest groups in New France (merchants, the Catholic church, and aboriginal groups) and the means they used to exert influence on the government
- textbook (RED), p. 102-107 (power of the state); p. 108-109 (relations with aboriginals); p. 110-111 (relations between the church and the state)
- complete blue booklet
