Five questions, to be handed in; 2 marks each: (p. 88; p. 89-91)
-Why did the Canadian government sign eleven Numbered Treaties with the First Nations in the West?
-List 4 things the government proposed to the FN in exchange for their land.
-Explain what were "Indian Residential Schools" - who ran them? what was their purpose? etc.
-What is a "Band Council"? What were its powers?
-What were the main political results of the Metis-Riel Rebellions? Why was Riel hanged?
