-go over last week's practice essay (achieving responsible government)
-review the 1840-1867 period (historical facts: political, territorial, economic, socio-cultural)
-review: background reasons to Confederation & first two conferences that led to Confederation
-complete booklet 4: page 1 (read & complete table)
-complete the third conference (London, Eng.)

Wed-Thurs: The "Dominion of Canada"
-analyse three documents: background to Canada's confederation
-notes: Canada's territory (4 provinces) & its new constitution (British North America Act)
-the structure of federalism

Quiz: (topics: background to confederation...)
Friday: group 02 (blue), 03 (purple); Monday, group 01 (red)
Format: short answer questions & perhaps a map
-end of protectionism & Britain's switch to free trade (effects...)
-creation of native reserves
